Korowaitanga 2024 – Te Touwai Marae 5 April 2024
The day was described by our Tumu Whakarae, Angus Hartley, as ‘organic’. It was a day that was full of laughter, songs, tears and amazement at the achievements and hard work of the ākonga.
It was particularly memorable given that the last intake of Te Tohu Mātauranga Whakapakari Tino Rangatiratanga o Te Kōhanga Reo graduated and all those present that day who had completed their Tohu Whakapakari had the chance to have their photo taken in acknowledgement of all of the Kaiako before us who have completed their tohu. We also have five graduates of Te Tohu Paetahi Tino Rangatiratanga o Te Kōhanga Reo.
Well done to all graduates who received their tohu on this day.
40 Year Celebration – Te Kōhanga Reo o Te Roopu Whānau
Te Kōhanga Reo o Te Roopu Whānau celebrated their 40th Birthday in Pukepoto, Kaitaia on Saturday 06 April 2024.
It was a day that brought whānau and friends together who travelled from near and far to share their memories of the Kōhanga Reo and to thank and acknowledge all those Kuia and Kaumatua whose dream it was to start a Kōhanga Reo. Time was spent reminiscing of the journey over the years, listening to the local Kapa Haka Roopu from Te Rarawa and watching the tamariki enjoying activities outdoors under the warm sun. The day ended with a Hakari and the cutting of the birthday cake.
Hari Huritau ki a koutou Te Kōhanga Reo o Te Roopu Whānau.
