This website is operated by Te Kōhanga Reo National Trust and its wholly owned subsidiary Te Pātaka Ohanga Limited. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us”, “our” and “The Trust” refer to Te Kōhanga Reo National Trust and Te Pātaka Ohanga Limited.
The Trust offers this website, including all information, applications, systems, products, and services available from this site to you, the user, conditional upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices stated here or linked (including by hyperlink) to this site (collectively “these Terms” or “the Terms”).
By visiting, using, or accessing our site and / or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by our terms which apply to all users of the site, (including browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and content contributors).
If you do not agree to all the Terms, you may not access the website or use any services.
Any new features, applications or functionality of any nature added to the website, are also subject to these Terms. You can review the most current version of the Terms at any time on this page. We may update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates and / or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Our store is hosted on Typo3. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.
You may not use our products for any illegal or unauthorised purpose nor may you, in the use of the service, violate any New Zealand laws.
You must not transmit any worms or viruses or any code of a destructive nature. Also be aware there may be restrictions on user uploads.
If you breach any of the Terms and we become aware of the breach, we will act to minimise the impact. Where costs incurred are attributable to your breach, we may take steps to recover these. Your access to services may also be terminated where applicable.
We may refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time subject to New Zealand Law.
You understand your information (not including credit card details), may be transferred unencrypted and may involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices.
Note: Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.
You understand that you require express permission from us to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any aspect of our services and products including copyrighted material.

We own trademarks over Te Kōhanga Reo tohu | logo and Te Pātaka Ohanga (TPO) logo.
All communications about our trademarked products and services or use of our trademarks must be directed to: [email protected]
Express permission must be obtained from us prior to any intended use of our trademarks by you in any way. See the Request permission to use Tohu form.
This requires that:
The Tohu | logo is not altered in any way
All information required by us including detail of the intended trademark use is provided prior to you taking any action to start using the trademark including any printing of materials; production of merchandise; or publishing of any online resource or reference
Express approval in writing must be received back from the Procurement team before commencing
You always comply fully and do not depart from or extend the use beyond the specific approval given and any limitations to it
If permission is granted, official images will be provided by us to show what is acceptable use.
We may revoke any approval granted if we decide in our discretion that the use is inappropriate. Use for the purpose of making a profit is inappropriate. If the approval is revoked, you must immediately stop all use of the trademarks.
Where permission is sought, the requester must not take any action to start using the Tohu until express permission has been received from Procurement and the limitations of its use have been agreed.
We endeavour to maintain accurate, complete, and current information on this site, but we are not responsible if it is not. Except for the Terms other material on this site is provided for general information only. It should not be relied upon or used as the sole basis for making decisions without consulting primary, more accurate, complete, or timely sources of information. Any reliance on the material on this site is at your own risk.
This site may contain historical information which is not current and is provided for your reference only. We may modify the contents of this site at any time, but we have no obligation to update any information. We may notify users of significant changes, but you should periodically check for updates to our site.
Prices, descriptions, quantities, availability and continuance of our products and services are subject to change at any time without notice.
We may modify or discontinue any product or service without notice at any time. We are not liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of any product or service.
Some products or services may be available exclusively online through the website. Some may have limited quantities and are subject to return or exchange only according to our Product Returns Policy (below).
We may, but are not obligated, to limit the sales of our products or services to any person or geographic region. We may exercise this right on a case-by-case basis.
If stock availability is an issue after an order has been placed, (eg due to an item being damaged, or out of stock), we will contact you first to see if you wish to amend your order to accept another colour or size, or to remove the item from your order.
Some promotional items may have limited supply. If the item is part of continuing items, we will let you know when another order is due to be placed and you can choose to wait for the supply, or we can remove the item from your order. If you remove the item where payment has already been made, we will contact you to process a refund.
We endeavour to display items for sale as accurately as possible. The colours may be affected by the screen of your computer monitor, tablet, or mobile phone.
We may correct any errors or omissions relating to our products or services and may change or update information or cancel orders if any information is inaccurate and may do so at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).
We do not routinely offer shipping to locations outside New Zealand, but contact [email protected] to discuss your needs and for a bulk order, noting that any eventual costs must be met by you.
While we will always act reasonably, we do not warrant that the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations, or that any errors or defects or inadequacies will be corrected unless set out in our Product Returns Policy or unless and to the extent specifically required by New Zealand consumer laws.
Product Returns Policy
Merchandise:
If there is an issue which we accept we are responsible for, or you have changed your mind we will deal with the situation under this policy.
You must notify [email protected] within 7 days of your receipt of the product
Products must be in a new state, ie unused, unwashed
You are to return the products at your cost. If we accept that we are responsible for defective or broken products or for the issue that you raised (but not if you have changed your mind), the Trust will reimburse reasonable shipping costs
Products must be received back at the Trust within 21 days of delivery
You can request a replacement product subject to availability, an alternate product, or a refund
Refunds will be processed within 21 days of goods being received back at the Trust
Taonga:
We have our greenstone taonga product available in three varieties, however we will send the taonga we have in stock so an order may be a mix of the varieties. Our taonga is a trademarked product and any purchase and use are subject to the Terms relating to our trademarks
If you receive a taonga in a variety that's unsuitable, please contact [email protected] to arrange a replacement within 7 days of the receipt of goods
Items must be in a new state, ie unused and in the original undamaged display box
You are to return the taonga at your cost. If we accept that we are responsible for defective or broken taonga, or for the issue you have raised (but not if you have changed your mind) the Trust will reimburse reasonable shipping costs
Taonga must be received back at the Trust within 21 days of delivery
You can request a replacement taonga subject to availability, and alternate item or a refund
Refunds will be processed within 21 days of goods being received back at the Trust
Payment for products ordered must be received within 14 days of an order being submitted otherwise it will be cancelled automatically.
If you have processed your payment and believe an order cancellation has been made in error, please:
Check your account to confirm the payment was successfully processed and went to our TPO bank account number: 01 0505 0005181-00.
Take a screen shot of the transaction showing the date, amount, and reference details.
Email us at [email protected] and provide full details of the payment made and your contact phone number. Either attach the screenshot or provide the date of transaction, amount and reference number and name used.
We will review this information and get in touch.
We may refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by the same customer, credit card, and / or orders that use the same billing and / or shipping address.
If we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the email and / or billing address / phone number provided at the time the order was made. We may limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, resellers or distributors.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate information for all purchases made at our store. You must ensure the information provided at the time of purchase, including your email address and payment details, is accurate and up to date to facilitate successful transactions and communication.
We may provide you with access to third-party applications or tools (apps / tools) which we do not monitor or have any control or input.
You agree that we provide access to such apps / tools “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, representations, or conditions of any kind and without any endorsement. We have no liability arising from or relating to your use of such apps / tools.
Any use by you of the apps / tools offered through the site is entirely at your own risk and discretion and you should ensure that you are familiar with and approve of the terms of provision by the provider(s).
We may in the future, offer new services and / or features through the website (including, the release of new apps / tools and resources) which are subject to these Terms.
Some content, products, and services available via our service may include materials from third parties.
Third-party links on this site may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy and we do not warrant and will not have any liability or responsibility for any third-party materials or websites, or for any other materials, products, or services of third parties.
We are not liable for any harm or damages related to the purchase or use of goods, services, resources, content, or any other transactions made in connection with any third-party websites. This limitation of liability covers lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the services or any products procured using the service. This limitation covers any other claim related in any way to your use of the service or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred because of the use of the service, or any content (or product) made available via the service.
You agree to indemnify the Trust (as defined in the preceding section) from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third-party due to or arising from your breach of these Terms, or any law or the rights of a third-party.
If any provision of these Terms is unlawful, void, or unenforceable, such provision remains enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law, and the unenforceable portion is severed from these Terms and does not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.
These Terms are effective unless and until terminated by us.
If in our sole judgment you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any of these Terms, we also may cease to provide services to you.
Any failure by us to exercise or enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such provision.
