Welcome to the Tainui rohe page, where you can find information about Te Koohanga Reo in our rohe.
The Koohanga Reo Kaupapa has been operating in our rohe for over 40 years. In this time, we have opened 94 Koohanga Reo across the district, 50 of which are operating today.
Our Koohanga Reo are nestled under the umbrella of the Kiingitanga, Ngaa Iwi o Tainui Waka and Te Koohanga Reo National Trust, and are entrenched in Te Ao Maaori.
Our Koohanga Reo are immersed in Te Reo Maaori me ngoona tikanga. We offer an environment where mokopuna and whaanau are enriched with the teachings of the Kiingitanga and the history of the mana whenua. These teachings are woven through the daily Whaariki of learning to empower our mokopuna and whaanau.
