Reduced Kaupapa Support – Tangi for Dame Iritana Tawhiwhirangi
We acknowledge the recent passing of Dame Iritana Tawhiwhirangi, one of the original founders of Te Kōhanga Reo and a beloved leader of our kaupapa.
A number of our kaimahi have travelled to Gisborne to attend Nanny Iritana’s tangi. During this time, phone support on both 0800 Kōhanga (0800 564 2642) and 0800 Arahiko will be reduced, with fewer kaimahi available to answer calls. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding, as there may be delays in responding to queries throughout the week.
For whānau who would like to view the timetable and arrangements for Nanny Iritana’s tangi, please click here.
We appreciate your support and compassion as we come together to farewell Nanny Iritana and honour her legacy.
Kei te taonga i whati ai te taringa, kei te kuia o ngā mokopuna o te motu, e moe. Waiho mai ō uri, tō iti me tō rahi ki konei tangi mapu kau ai, kia ngawari tō hoki ki ō mātua tīpuna kua roa e tatari ana ki a koe.
I ora ai te reo, nāu.
I kaha ai te whānau, nāu.
I puāwai te kaupapa, nāu.
Kei te Manu Ariki Whakatakapōkai o Te Kōhanga Reo, e Kui Iritana, haere atu rā.
Ngā mihi nui,
Angus Hartley
