This is a reminder for all whānau that applications for the He Manu Pīrere o Te Kōhanga Reo 2025 scholarship close this Friday, 4 April 2025 at 5pm.

He Manu Pīrere is a scholarship that supports graduates of Te Kōhanga Reo in their journey through tertiary education or trade training. It recognises the foundation laid in kōhanga and helps nurture continued growth in a wide range of learning pathways.

If you, or someone you know, is a graduate of Te Kōhanga Reo and currently studying or planning to study at a tertiary level or in a trade, we encourage you to apply.

To help with your application, we’ve created a short video that walks you through the process and explains what’s required.

Who can apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be a graduate of Kōhanga Reo, having attended for at least two years

• Be enrolled full-time in a recognised New Zealand tertiary institution or trade training programme

• Demonstrate their commitment to Te Reo Māori and the kaupapa of Kōhanga Reo
