ICT Rollout
As you may have seen, the Trust is preparing to rollout new technology for Kōhanga Reo, and we’re beginning with Tāmaki Makaurau.
You can read more about the technology programme here.
Here is what Tāmaki Makaurau Kōhanga Reo need to know:
Starting Monday, 4 March, kaimahi from Te Ara Hiko will be reaching out to each Kōhanga Reo to:
Let you know how many free bundles your Kōhanga Reo is eligible to receive.
Explore the technology options tailored to the needs of your whānau and understand what you intend to do with your current devices.
Explore the WIFI and printer lease options that are also available to Kōhanga Reo.
Note down your unconfirmed order and send you an email with all the details, including costs that you can take to your whānau hui for approval.
Schedule a follow-up call post the next whānau hui to finalise and place orders for the technology equipment your whānau have chosen.
Identifying your needs:
Check out the Tech Product Guide to see what’s on offer.
Have a look at the Product Bundle - Frequently Asked Questions to be clear on the process and what’s included.
Does your Kōhanga Reo need additional devices? Are your internet services effective? Discuss the options with Te Ara Hiko and your whānau to make sure you’re getting the tools and internet services that work best for your whānau.
When can you expect delivery?
Te Ara Hiko will be placing orders for Tāmaki Makaurau at the end of March with an expected delivery timetable in May.
What support will be in place?
From early May, Te Ara Hiko will be running Tech Hubs across Tāmaki Makaurau to help you migrate files, set up your devices, and clean up old devices for reuse or recycling.
At the same time, we’ll be able to provide training on the use of OneDrive, Teams, Te Aho Poutama and Edge.
We will be in touch soon.
