The Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau health programme is here to help
It can be hard to keep our mokopuna healthy and well over the winter months. This is a reminder that the Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau (MOP) health programme is here to help.
What is MOP?
MOP provides funding support for current enrolled mokopuna to access treatments for ear, nose, and throat conditions (for example tonsils, adenoids, and grommets) and it covers dental extractions too.
Over the years, this valuable programme has helped many whānau obtain the specialist treatment needed for their mokopuna so they can be well again and fully participating in Kōhanga Reo. We want to ensure all whānau know about it and can benefit from this programme.
How to apply for pre-approval
If you want to apply for MOP support, here are some key things to remember:
Please use the new MOP Prior Approval Form available from the MOP web page.
Note: We can no longer accept old forms, as there is now additional information we need to collect to process your request. If you have downloaded and saved an old MOP form, please delete it, and go to the MOP page instead.Remember to complete the MOP Prior Approval Form together with your doctor when you receive your specialist referral. This means your doctor can complete the medical conditions details section of the form.
Please use the exact same mokopuna name on the form that was used for enrolment of your mokopuna in Kōhanga Reo. This will make it easier for us to match and process your request as we need to confirm the mokopuna is currently enrolled.
For more information, check out the MOP page on the website.
