Insurance Renewals
Kia ora e te whānau,
Accurate and up-to-date insurance records are vital to ensuring your Kōhanga Reo is adequately covered and only paying for the assets that need protection. Each year, we provide our insurer with a comprehensive schedule of all assets and their values to determine the correct premiums for the coming year. Without current and precise information, your Kōhanga Reo risks being underinsured or paying for assets that no longer require cover.
To help us keep these records accurate and to avoid unnecessary costs, we need your support in reviewing and updating your insurance details. Here are some common situations where we need your input:
Waka: Please notify us if you have sold or disposed of any vehicles (waka) throughout the year, or if a lease has ended, to ensure these are no longer being insured. Sometimes vehicles that have been sold remain listed as assets, and insurance is still being paid.
Contents: Make sure your contents cover is accurate for the assets you have. If you’ve purchased any new resources such as playgrounds, shade sails, or other high-value items, please update the contents value. For example, you wouldn’t want a $100,000 playground damaged and only have $30,000 worth of cover.
Also, check that your contents insurance is covering the correct location. If you’ve moved to a temporary or new permanent location, be sure the cover has shifted too.
Buildings and sundries: Ensure your building and any sundries like garages, sheds, fences, or decking are appropriately covered. If you’ve had changes like renovations or removed structures (e.g. a shed demolished in a storm), let us know.
Note: While shade sails come under contents, other structures like decking or garages should be included in your buildings cover.
Public liability cover: This is primarily based on the number of kaimahi. If you’re using Smartly, please ensure the records are current so your cover reflects the correct amount.
We really appreciate your effort in keeping your insurance records accurate. Keeping us informed helps ensure your Kōhanga Reo is covered correctly and only paying for what it needs to.
